Knowdle Privacy Policy
Knowdle is a trivia game for Android published by Trolley Studio ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Knowdle app (package com.trolley.knowdle) and to the pages it opens on haltaalam.fyi.
The short version: you never create an account or give us your email. The app uses an anonymous ID so leaderboards and online duels work. Google services we rely on (Firebase, AdMob, Google Play) collect device and usage data to run, measure and fund the app. You can play every offline mode without the online features.
Information we collect
Anonymous account
The first time you use an online feature, the app signs you in anonymously with Firebase Authentication. This creates a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email or phone number. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, a new identifier is created next time.
Leaderboards
To rank you on the daily, weekly, global and country leaderboards we store:
- Your display name. The app gives you one like "Player 3651"; you can change it. Please don't use your real full name. Names are checked against a filter for offensive words.
- Your country, taken from your device's region setting, which you can change.
- Your scores, completion times and number of games played.
Your display name, country and scores are visible to other players on the leaderboards.
Online duels
When you play an online duel, we store your display name, country, the questions in the match, your answers, how long you took and the result, so both players see the same match and the result can be checked fairly. Private rooms use a short code that expires after 10 minutes. If no opponent is found, you may be matched against a computer opponent.
Information collected by Google services
The app uses the following Google services, which collect information under their own terms:
- Firebase Analytics: how the app is used (screens and features opened, games played and finished), an app-instance identifier, device model, operating system, language and approximate location derived from your IP address. We use this to understand which features people enjoy and to fix problems.
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports with the state of the app and device at the time of the crash.
- Firebase Remote Config and App Check (Play Integrity): technical data used to deliver settings and to verify that requests come from a genuine copy of the app, which protects leaderboards and duels from cheating.
- Google AdMob: shows ads to players who have not bought the Gold Edition. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and device information to show and measure ads, and, where you have agreed, to personalize them. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Google Play Billing: processes the Gold Edition purchase. We receive confirmation that you bought it, never your payment details.
- Google Play In-App Review: may occasionally ask you to rate the app; your rating goes to Google Play.
Question pictures
Picture questions load images from haltaalam.fyi, hosted on Firebase Hosting. Like any web server it receives your IP address and basic request information when an image is downloaded. Images are cached on your device afterwards.
Information that stays on your device
Your settings (sound, music, daily reminder), streaks, personal bests, progress through the question banks and your daily results are stored on your device. The daily reminder is a notification scheduled by the app itself on your phone; we do not run a push-notification server.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for or collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location or payment details.
How we use information
- To run the game, including leaderboards, daily challenges and online duels.
- To keep competition fair and prevent cheating and abuse.
- To understand how the app is used and to fix crashes and bugs.
- To show ads that keep the free version free, and to provide the Gold Edition to those who buy it.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only:
- With other players: your display name, country and scores on leaderboards and in duels.
- With Google, as our service provider for hosting, databases, analytics, crash reporting, ads and payments, as described above.
- If required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our players and the app.
Where data is stored and how long we keep it
Leaderboard and duel data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the European Union. Leaderboard entries are kept while the leaderboards exist, or until you ask us to delete them. Duel records are kept as long as needed to run and verify matches. Analytics and crash data are kept for the retention periods configured in Google Analytics for Firebase and Crashlytics. Data on your device is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.

Children
